Bahman Hatami is a highly experienced and motivated English teacher with a proven track record of success in a number of Australian English colleges and universities in Sydney, including the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), Lloyds, Cambridge, Crown Institute of Business and Technology and Greenwich College.
His teaching career began with the completion of his Bachelor degree studies in English Language Teaching in Iran, and later in colleges in Spain and Japan. In Australia, he completed Master degree of Applied Linguistics (TESOL) in UTS, and later an incomplete PhD research on the role of 1st language on 2nd language acquisition at Australian Catholic University in Sydney.
Bahman’s extensive experience extends beyond the classroom, as he has also served as an academic manager in various ELICOS centres across New South Wales in Australia. In these roles, he has prepared and designed General English curriculum from Beginners to Advanced where his profound knowledge of the latest TESOL methodologies and his awareness on the role of the 1st language on the acquisition of the 2nd language play a key part to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality English language teaching.
His eclectic approach draws inspiration from various teaching methodologies, including communicative language teaching, task-based learning, and experiential learning. This strategic blend of techniques ensures that his students are exposed to a diverse range of learning styles, catering to their individual needs and preferences. His expertise in making a meaningful use of contextualised grammar drilling, coupled with his innovative teaching style where language acquisition occurs through learners’ meaningful engagement with language that is both comprehensible and interactive, has garnered admiration and has captivated students for about two decades.
